Sick day...

I was home sick today with a weird stomach bug and quite frankly I'm bummed as I had to miss karate because of it and I'm testing for a new belt in a few weeks. I pretty much nursed a cup of full-caffeine green tea and honey until my stomach settled down enough for me to finish the first of a set of socks I've been neglecting.

Now I do realize that they are two totally different designs...I have a huge problem with second sock syndrome, and thus I deemed it necessary to choose two patterns and alternate them. Today I finished the cabled green specimen on the left, much to my satisfaction and delight.

The pattern is Slippery from Knitty.com, knit with Kroy sock yarn. I liked the pattern, as the design kept me fairly interested for the duration of the project. I'm not crazy about the yarn though...the colors were nice, but it managed to split constantly throughout the minicable method I employed, and split stitches are my biggest knitting peeve!

Excuse my poor photography abilities, but this is a general idea of what the panels look like. My Kitchener stitch is not the best either...if anyone has an alternative method, it would be much appreciated!
